All rails and stiles are 7/8" thick Poplar to increase durability and guarantee it will withstand years of abuse. Heavy-duty torsion hinges ensure the lid will open easily, stay open at any angle and close smoothly. Relief apertures cut in the top rails on 3 sides help to eliminate the danger of little hands being pinched when the lid closes. The 1/2" thick letters are CNC machined for ultra-smooth edges and precision accuracy.
